Taranaki Fur Babies is a project aimed at understanding our pet cats. Many people have one or more cats. But do you know what your cat gets up to when you are away or asleep? We have been mapping the cats' activities.

Wild for Taranaki and MAIN trust are working together on this Curious Minds project, an initative to support and encourage science and techonology throughout New Zealand.

We aim to track local cats to see where they are travelling too and how far they get without our knowledge. The results from this data will allow scientists, educators, government both local and national, to develop policies and regulations surrounding pets and their owners.

See the Wild for Taranaki site for more about the project, and what to do if you and your cat want to be involved.

The participating cats can be seen in the gallery on this website under "Taranaki Furbabies".
